What dessert is cozy, delicious, healthy, and 100% all yours? This apple crisp!
Yields 1 serving
Ingredients:
1 Gala or Honeycrisp apple, diced into ½ inch cubes
1 teaspoon ghee, optional - you can use water if you'd rather steam the apples to soften them
2 teaspoons of Cinnamon
1 teaspoon of Maple or Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon of Honey or Sukrin Syrup
Granola of choice. My favorite is from Park Lane Pantry
1 dollop of Coconut Whipped Cream
Directions:
In a skillet over medium heat saute the apples in ghee until slightly softened. Alternatively, you can add a tsp of water and place a lid on top of the skillet to allow the apples to steam until they're soft.
Add the cinnamon, maple extract, and honey. Stir to combine. Continue to cook until the apples are golden brown and the syrupy mixture begins to thicken.
Take the apples off the heat, place in a mug or ramekin, and top with your granola of choice for some crunch and a dollop of coconut whipped cream. Enjoy!
